brand new imac user questions..

Just realised i'll probably have a few questions so hop its ok to create a new thread for this, sure it'll help other new users as well.

Okay, how do you cut and paste? On my macbook there was an apple key and you pressed that + c then the apple + v to paste. No such key on my new tiny keyboard though!

Use the Command+C, Command+V for cut and paste..the key on either side of the space bar..

It's also probably good to mention that the command key is the equivalent of the apple key on the old Macs.

(Command - S is save, Command - Q is quit, Command - A is select all) You can find a list of these by searching mac keyboard shortcuts.

Is it possible to use a usb external hard drive as the time machine? If not what can i use to take advantage of this good idea?

Sure. Lots of people backup to a usb external with Time Machine.
You don't have to buy Apple's Time Capsule.

Now Does the SD card slot mean the imac is compatible with the newer SDHC card? Can i put a sdhc card in this slot?

Yes. You can use SD cards, SDHC, MMC, and the Mini and Micro SD variations with an adapter.
