Hey all, I successfully partioned my HDD to have a 10.6.8 partition (for some work software that doesn't work past Snow Leopard) and a 10.10.1 partition.
Both work, but I am having issues booting to the one I want on startup. Holding Option when trying to leave Yosemite doesn't show my 10.6.8 partition- only OS X installer, 10.10.1 partition, and Recovery HD. Now, I can go to system prefs and choose it as a startup disk. For Snow Leopard, it's basically the opposite scenario.

Any clean fixes? I really wish you could make Apple Startup Manager just open by default...

Always supply model details. The problems may be the computer came new with a later operting system than Snow Leopard OS X.6. As a rule of thumb there is no going back to earlier opeating systems and this may be what is causing your trouble. refit may work.

Might be time to conside updating applications to Intel.

Thanks guys. Been to my two sons homes at Katoomba - more exciting than Changi Road Singapore let me tell you. Being in the Blue Mountains about 100 miles inland from Sydney, cool cool days and nights. They had been wanting me to go since my wife died last year and finally got there.

You can guess the next step "Dad you are too far away and at 76 should move closer". Told then no need, maybe when I get old!!
