I tried running Oblivion via Boot Camp. I keep getting some error related to dinput8.dll (DirectInput). I installed the latest 9.0c DirectX, that didn't help. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I think this is one of the things that don't work.

The error message would help - is it a file not found error or what?

Oblivion should play, have too many sites with reviews playing it under BootCamp.

Am assuming you re-booted after Directx 9 install
If installed oblivion prior to directx 9, might would try un-install and re-installing

Yep, Apple Drivers were installed first thing. I will post the specific error when i get a chance. I'd really like to get this working, I don't game much on the PC, but there are a few games I'd like to get running.

Do you have the latest Windows updates? Oblivion updates? Driver updates?

Ok, when I run Oblivion, it crashes (the usual Windows crash dialog). If I click for details, it says:

AppName: oblivion.exe AppVer: 1.2.0.416 ModName: dinput8.dll
ModVer: 5.3.2600.2180 Offset: 00016324

Reinstalling DirectX 9.0c doesn't help. I've tried everything I can think of. When I run dxdiag, it says there may have been a problem accessing DirectInput last time this program was used.

Wow. So I did some heavy Googling, found someone who had the same problem (different game though), and he said it was because he had some IR stuff plugged into his USB. So I thought.. hm.. I don't have anything odd plugged into my USB ports, do I? Actually, I do. I have a USB dongle for one of my pro applications plugged in! I unplugged it, Oblivion runs fine now.

Wow, I'll say. We could have been troubelshooting that one for awhile here. Nice find by the way. I hadn't seen that one when looking this morning.
