bluestacks app player safe to download and install?

l have downloaded bluestacks app player for my mac but not sure if l should install it. http://bluestacks-app-player-mac.en.softonic.com/mac/download#downloading
reason for the download is l want to have whatsapp application on my macbook. wechat also.

Be careful when downloading anything from the Softonic web site. They have a bad habit of attaching Ad-Ware to your download. As far as the Bluestacks Player app is concerned, I have heard nothing about it.

The official site for Bluestacks only lists a Windows version. They no longer seem to support Mac, so not sure how old the version from Softonic is and whether you should even install it..
