Because there is a waitlist at just about every place to buy these. You could put your name on a list and not get a iPod Mini for 2 months.

there is a 6-8 week wait if you buy it from apple.com

Yeah, that is exactly why, the most expensive one I ever sold on eBay was $350.00 SILVER. Tremendous wait time because the lacking of an internel part.

Many people are still in the dark about this. It is atleast somewhat confirmed that these are now shipping as expected, and should be in stock at most retailers within a week or two, if not already. At any rate, $280 shipped isn't a bad price considering $250+tax will get you nearly there. If you can't find one in your area, grab this one!

Shipping to England will have to have shipping. I think it will be around $20.00 USD.
