I immediately store any email I want to keep in the appropriate folder. I just tried to open an email from October 21, 2014, and it is completely blank. The subject appears in the list of emails within the folder, but when opened, there is absolutely nothing. I have had this happen a few times in the past as well. Still using 10.6.8, on a 27" iMac with all the bells and whistles!
