Black Mac

I was wondering if anybody knows why apple stopped making the black mac? I really dislike the glossy white and don't care much for the aluminum either. I was just wondering if they ever gave a reason.

Design continuity..all the machines are silver or black and silver.

Also, they kept the white macbook because way more people bought the white over the black.

White is just different. You don't see many white Laptops, or white electronics period.

I bought the Whitebook myself and love it.. The blackbooks were pretty sweet though.

I bought a black mac back four years ago when all my friends bought white ones (they were practically a requirement for my college course) several were jealous and wanted the black one and a lecturer even said mine was a 'nice piece of work' when comparing it with his.
Now it's time to upgrade I have no doubts about getting a white one like mentioned there are not many white laptops around and I need a change. I prefer the white finish these days too. Back then there was a matt finish which got dirty really fast but the current ones is pretty.

If Apple stopped selling the white MacBooks...and continued to make the Black MacBooks...then someone would be asking "Why did Apple stop selling the white MacBooks"!

I had a Blackbook 13" (refurb) - I think the difference was more RAM and bigger hard drive.
I ebayed it because the screen wasn't big enough. I'm an accounting student and I tend to put spreadsheets side by side. The LED screen is pretty awesome too.
Looking back I should have kept the 13 for when I didn't want to take my "best" laptop somewhere. For example, this Wednesday - jury duty.

Now I'm on ebay looking for a "beater" laptop that I don't really care about.

People have forgotten that there was ever a black Macbook made. I come into class and people look at my laptop are bewildered that I have a black Macbook. I always have people asking me, "where did you get a black Apple laptop?" or "did you do that yourself?"
