I have a 6-month old white Macbook with 2GB of RAM and an 80GB HDD. It has normal usage markings, but no exceptionally distinctive signs of use. Nothing has gone wrong with it at all, really.

[EDIT]
Things I forgot to mention:
-It's the Core 2 Duo model
-Superdrive
[/EDIT]

What would be the best way for me to trade up to the newly updated Macbook Pro for $1,800?

That is, what would be the best way of either trading in or selling my Macbook to get the most money back for a new Macbook Pro?

And what can I expect to get for it?

You could try using the Buy/Sell/Trade Forum on these boards to sell your macbook. Most the people on it are trust worthy. Look for people that have decent reputation and haev been here for a while or if they have ebay reputation. It helps if you have some ebay reputation yourself or some kind of sales reputation so people know you're trust worthy and all too.

I, too, would be very interested in a trade (balanced with cash) for a C2D MBP. If you can help me get a better deal than the online Apple Store, I might consider it seriously.

I would not recommend selling it on this forum. You will only get low ball offers. eBay and Craiglist are a good way to sell if for good money. Just stay away from foreign bidders and personal any kind of checks really.
