I'm helping a friend of mine revise his IT resume.

My friend's computer experience is mostly with Macs.

I'm not a Mac user so I'm wondering what are the best Mac skills to list on an IT resume?

If your friend is a Mac user, I'm sure he should be able to list whatever skills he has using Macs. Skills using any computer system are similar. Unless he was managing a Mac system, just tell him to put down what he has done with Macs.

And, welcome to our forums.

So this depends. A resume should be tailored to the job, if they are applying for a job that is a Mac house then they need to list everything they know about Apple computer. If it is a general purpose IT position then I would mention it on the resume but would lean more on general computer skills and hopefully your friend knows something about Microsoft Windows.

Does your friend have any command line experience. I can say as a IT director I do get excited when I see mention of Unix/Linux command line experience.

I'm confused, if they're the one with the Mac experience and you don't have any, how are you actually helping them? It's one thing to help with the formatting or something, but other than that, it's up the person with the experience to best explain what they know.
