Hi. Just bought a new MBP 16 intel and Looking for a good Mac app cleaner.
I used to use AppZapper but sometimes it was asking me permission to delete some files that kind of look like unrelated. And I just saw an article that supported that ( unfortunately).
I prefer a free version if possible.
I also saw good reviews for App Cleaner & Uninstaller by nektony... but I’m not sure if 19.99 is one time only or not... and on the website it shows: M1 ready , my MBP is intel.
Thanks

The best app cleaner is the uninstall program which comes with most programs. I do have App Cleaner but have not used it for years.

I use AppCleaner also. This is not the version in the macOS App Store.

Your comment appears to suggest that there is a benefit in not using the App Store version or am I reading too much into it? I have the App Store version which is 3.6 and looking at the freemacsoft site it shows the latest version is also 3.6.

Sorry about that I can't find it either - I have had the app for such a long time I just assumed I got it from the App Store. Hey **!

edit - That's odd why can't I type the letter H followed by the letter o at the end of the sentence?

About 5 years ago (maybe longer) there was an AppCleaner app in the App Store, which I tried but it didn't do everything the original app did.

https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

It only helps remove files related to apps you are removing.

@ QueenMe - I'm using the same app as at the link above (see pic below of app opened on my laptop and its icon) - agree w/ all that this app is not available at the App Store (although many other options are - whether these offer additional/better/safer/etc. features, I'm not sure - others may 'chime in').

Regarding the items chosen by the app, I usually remove what is checked; at times, some boxes are not checked and a decision is needed - I will usually add a check if the name of the app to be removed appears in the listing. But bottom line is that I still use the app. Dave :)

Just done a bit of research and found that it is offensive - learning all the time!

I don't think it's the same developer. They would mention it on their site, if it were.

It's not the same developer and not the same app. It looks like another cleaning app that maybe can't be trusted?
