Battery Demise

I have read all the stuff about battery care and all that. I'd like to know if the demise of mine normal. Here is the info...

Cycles 75
Capacity 1733nAh
Original Capacity 5500mAh
Age 10 months

Battery only lasts 45min and dies saying there is still 20min

It depends on how you've used it. If it's constantly being completely discharged and then recharged, this isn't that unusual. With that said, it doesn't look like it's had that many cycles.

I can tell you, however, that there is a known issue with MacBook and MacBook Pro batteries that were produced between February 2006 and April of 2007 which has prompted Apple to extend the warranty on some batteries to 2 years. If you fall into that date span and you believe the wear to be excessive given your use, it might make sense to call and request a replacement.

No... 45 minutes on an 10 month old battery with only 75 cycles is not right.

Have you tried to recalibrate the battery?

Yes, I did look at that but numbers on my batt didn't match the numbers they claim are affected

This is the article I'm referring to. Apple replaced my battery with no questions asked after I told them that I was barely getting 2 hours out of it and it was only a few months old.

Great! Thanks for the input, all. I just was looking to see if there was justification for me calling for a replacement. I just got off the phone with Apple and they are sending me a new battery!!

Amazing customer service, at least in my experience. I basically called, explained what I had done to rectify the issue and they offered me another battery. I had it on my doorstep in less than 24 hours. How's that for service?
