Something odd is happening. I recently filled up the hard drive on my MacBook Pro to within 445.5MB of its full memory. So I have deleted many big files including Final Cut projects, Photoshop documents, movies, music, HD photographs and yet the available memory doesn't change.

I am using a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X version 10.5.8

I have no idea what this could be.

Nevermind. I forgot you need to empty the trash. Sorry for wasting your time if you read this.

Just FYI, because these terms can get confusing:

"Memory" generally refers to RAM, not the hard drive. You should use the term "storage" or "space" when referring to the hard drive.
