So I'm sure almost everybody has recieved a wierd email from a friend that says talks about this website with all this great free stuff. My mom told me today that she got an email from me at about 4 am saying i just got a new iphone at this website, which isn't true. The email also went to my brother and probably alot of people on my contact list but there is no record of it in my email history.
Just wondering if anyone knows hows the emails start or how they get your personal email address. And if anyone knows how to stop it that would be nice.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

It looks like someone who's recently emailed you, has included your email in a "batch" under the CC field and someone else who's received that email, has then gotten yours and others email addresses, that way.

I personally never use the standard CC mode, when replying or forwarding emails - I find BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) to be much better, as this doesn't forward the individual email addresses on.

Here's a link that it explains it a little better. :)

Hope this info helps.
