Audio Input Registering, but No Output Signal!!!

I have an audio recording device plugged into the Input (3.5mm jack) of my PowerPC G5 and it is registering the input (verified via Sound input monitor) but no sound is being produced via the speakers I have plugged into tower output? Headphone output either.

Can someone help me?
