m using my new 2019 13inch mbp...
When I enter Zoom meetings I can see and be seen, I can hear other participants but they can't hear me. I dont think Its not an issue with the zoom app.

Depending upon how you have Zoom's audio preferences set, audio can behave somewhat independently of Mac's normal audio settings. Try the following and see if it fixes your issue:

1. Launch Zoom and stop when you get to the screen that allows you to schedule a meeting, join a meeting, etc.
2. Open Zoom's preferences from the menu or press command +, simultaneously.
3. When the next window appears, choose "audio" in the pane on the left. Choose the mic you want to use as your input. If you choose Same as System, Zoom uses whatever you have your JMamc's sound input set to. If it is set for anything else, it uses that interface.

If you make changes, you may find it best to relaunch Zoom to make sure the changes take effect.

I agree wholeheartedly with Sly.

The commonest reason for your problem is that you have not unmuted your audio. It shows as a microphone with a diagonal line through it meaning that your are muted. Click on that too unmute. Then you are good to go.

Good catch, Ian. I completely forgot about the possibility that the mic might be muted. That could be due to any or all of the following possibilities
1. Barbermanz has the mic muted in the app.
2. The wrong input is chosen in Zoom, as I mentioned in my previous post.
3. Zoom is set to use the same input as the Mac, and the input gain is too low in the Mac's sound preferences.
4. A physical mute switch on the mic itself (common on headset mics designed for voice calls).

Are we sure this is a macOS and not iOS/iPadOS issue?
