I hate Word because everything seems to be a chore. InDesign, QuarkXPress - no problem, but Word stumps me every time just trying to do the simplest things!

I'm trying to set up single A4 sheets, without spreads.

First page setup:

Move to end of page and lo and behold a page appears on the left:

word2.gif

Move to the end of that page and suddenly page 1 appears at the bottom:

Any idea how to just get a d-amn single page below the first one?

It may be your page setup. If the form is larger than the page size, even with, say, a hard return you can't see, it'll add an extra page because the extra characters run over.

Try going to the end of your form and seeing if there's any extra spaces or such like that you can delete.

Thanks. It does the same thing if I have a completely blank page in a new document and keep pressing return. A new page appears on the left and then one at the bottom.

Yeah, margins, that's what I meant.

I know where you're coming from with this. I've get a text file with instructions on how to set a different footer on the last page of a document because it's so awkward to do.
