Hi guys,

I'm new to mac-forums since I'm new to macs.

I recently encountered this problem where applemail does not connect to my exchange server. I have tried everything to my knowledge but it does not connect. I tried to delete my account and recreate it but on the automatic setup I can see that the app finds my server because it verifies that my name exists on the server and this even though I haven't specified my server address. It keeps telling me that it cannot connect to the server because it cannot find it

My co-workers who are using windows computers are not suffering from this problem and this just came up suddenly, it was working fine and then the next moment this happens.

Any insight would be much appreciated

Additionally, the same problems seems to exist on microsoft outlook on mac.

There had been an abrupt server restart a week ago on our exchange server. I am beginning to think that may have caused it

Please read through the following Apple Support Document regarding Exchange Server and Apple Mail compatibility. Note that your Exchange Server must be using version 2007 with service pack 1 installed.

I am already familiar with the steps to adding an exchange account to apple mail and outlook. We had proper mail flow on the mac computers only until a about a week ago and then suddenly these errors started showing up whereas the windows computers are working fine.

We've had no problems with macs with our current server configuration until now.

Have you tried, as was necessary for me to connect iPhone and iPad to the corporate Exchange server, to prefix your login name (say JDOE) by your company's windows domain (for a company having ACME.COM as internet domain name, could be ACME) followed by an anti slash (say here ACME\JDOE)? HTH
