I think any of those are possibilities (Apple was experimenting…there was a server glitch…a hacker attack…etc.). Companies will usually only admit to something if it is positive press for them…too much media backlash to ignore it…or they are compelled to legally.

That sounds strangely familiar. Are you sure you weren't referring to our leaders in Washington, DC? :p

Yes…those three possibilities can apply to many things!;)

I was hoping for a confirmation from Chas for his source for the reason but I guess it's to remain privy… and I couldn't find such "widely reported" info…

This was fairly widely reported along with the confirmation that it was temporary. Sorry you guys found a source that didn't tell the whole story. Glad you got the update.

(bold mine)

Anyway, a bit or a jarring experience … but if I hadn't read anything or done any access to check, I wouldn't have even noticed. :p

And special for the "Photos haters" (aka ... oh never mind, let's just say close-minded)
Because being critical of something makes someone close minded? You know, you'd think with an almost strident support of Apple, a claim could be made that you're also being close minded.

Hmmm… I could think of some other description phrases and words that come to mind… ;) :Mischievous:

But really, what does "Photos haters" even have to do with this thread and subject I wonder… ??? Or did I really miss something???

No, being critical of something *with facts to back you up* is not being close-minded.

Being critical of something without any first-hand knowledge of what you're talking about makes you closed-minded.

I hear a lot of complaints about Photos here, and when I follow-up to ask them specifically what the problem is ... oh wait ... turns out to be misinformation most of the time.

But as for close-mindedness -- I'm the one who has consistently brought up an ACTUAL issue in Photos I learned from ACTUAL use. Haven't run into that from anyone else around here ...

chas_m, I use that heavy duty Reynolds Wrap when I make my hats!! And paranoid can make for a good dose of prevention. ;)

The App store is still acting wonky (a highly technical term meaning "all messed up".) I have my purchases back but I keep having an iTunes update pop up that shows up below as being installed. When I click to up date it says it is installed but won't clear out of the update needed area.
