Yes Pages is free but you say you already have Keynote etc so I'm a bit puzzled. Just have a look on the App Store. As for deleting Office I wouldn't. Unless it's a very old version or not working it's definitely worth keeping. Expensive to replace and it's still the benchmark for documents.

Yes, the iWork suite is now free (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) for macOS and iOS. As Rod advised, it's probably a good idea to keep your MS Office app unless it's a 32 bit version which will no longer work in the next release of macOS (10.15).

Pages, Numbers, and Keynote all used to be free with a new Macintosh, but not free when a new major version was released. However, now they are completely free:

Keynote (free)
Keynote on the App Store

Numbers (free)
Numbers on the Mac App Store

Pages (free)
Pages on the Mac App Store

However, if you are used to using Microsoft Office, but want an alternative, there a several nice free alternatives out there that might be more familiar to you. (Apple's "Office" suite of products is not terribly similar to Microsoft's.) This is the one that I recommend most highly:

FreeOffice (free)
www.freeoffice.com - FreeOffice for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android

I've slipped FreeOffice onto some client's Mac's, and they didn't even notice that it wasn't Microsoft Office until I told them!

Trying to pick through that last post (#5) to make sense, it would appear you have downloaded the Office suite, but not activated it. Did you pay for it? If you didn't pay and just want to get rid of the installer, just delete it. If you installed from, let's say, Microsoft Office365 and have not activated it after installing, you will need to run an uninstaller to get rid of all the bits and pieces. You can see what you need to do by opening any office product (Word, for example, then search in Help for Uninstall. And no, you don't need to uninstall before trying other things that Randy suggested.

Thanks in advance ... how do i delete microsoft word from my ipadpro?
That's much easier. Press and hold the app icon until it starts dancing, then an X should appear on it, press the X.

FreeOffice DOES NOT come from Microsoft. FreeOffice is for the Macintosh. There is no version of FreeOffice for the iPad (iOS).

There *are* versions of Microsoft Office for the iPad, and they are free:
Microsoft Office 365 for Mobile Devices, Tablets, Phones

Word for iOS:
Microsoft Word on the App Store

Excel for iOS:
Microsoft Excel on the App Store

Powerpoint for iOS
Microsoft PowerPoint on the App Store

I believe Microsoft still restricts their free versions of Office 365 for the iPad to those iPads with less than a 10" screen. The older 9.7" iPad was perfect for using the free version of Office 365. My 10.5" iPad Pro does not qualify for the free version.

Office 365 on an iPhone, however, is free just as Randy has indicated.

Just as an FYI. There are also other alternatives to Microsoft Office...FreeOffice as you mentioned being one of them.

I'm not as familiar with FreeOffice (seems like a newer product)...but alternatives that have been around for years are OpenOffice and LibreOffice.

I have both MS Office & OpenOffice installed on the same computer with no issues.
