I have set up smart mailboxes in mail, and my mail is automatically going into these folders. The problem is that it is only sending a copy of my seperate emails to the folders. They are also still in my inbox. With windows outlook express when I created rules to route different emails to different folders it moved them so my inbox only contained mail that I didn't have specified to another folder. Is there a way to accomplish this with my mac mail? Thanks.

Yeah smart mailboxes are filters, they don't actually move your email, they just filter your email so that you can view all emails that meet the smart folder criteria.

To do an actual move, you need to setup rules, which is found in Mail > Preferences > Rules then you can create all your rules here. Instead of smart mailboxes you would create actual folders and then use the Rules to physically move the message to that folder.
