I don't know if this is the appropriate forum to post this, but any help will be greatly appreciated. I have had an Apple ID for a long time (since 2005, if I'm not mistaken) and it has always worked fine until recently. This Apple ID was NOT my email address, it was just a random nickname. I just bought an iPad, and I don't know if it is related to that or not, but at about the same time that I registered the iPad, my password for my old Apple ID stopped working at once for all of my gadgets (MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad) when I tried to download something from iTunes or the App Store. I tried to use the feature "Forgot my password" on the site to which I was redirected by iTunes, but it was like that Apple ID never existed. It asked for my date of birth, for the purpose of verification, and even though I answered it correctly 2 or 3 times, it told me that it was not the correct one. I then tried to log in using my account primary email, restoring the password for that email, and then it worked fine. Now, I can log in using that email as my Apple ID, but it seems like my old Apple ID is lost in a "limbo". The old password doesn't work, the new password doesn't work, and when I request for an Email Authentication to be sent to my email for the old Apple ID, no email arrives. Since I have all of my information attached to my old Apple ID, I'm afraid that it might have been hacked, or something. I'm really struggling to understand what happened. Anybody who has any insight into this and can help me out, I'll be very grateful. Thanks.
