I have a bluetooth dongle connected to my home audio system and my iPhone 6 automatically connects to it when I get home . I don't want it to do this because then I don't get any audio alerts from the phone such as a new text or email etc. The only way to stop this from happening is to turn off bluetooth or worse, "forget" the dongle.

Not sure why this isn't a feature of the OS. You should be able to configure it to auto-connect for some devices, like when you get in your car, or to do it manually for some devices like in my case the home audio system. Is there an app or any way work around for this?

Turn Bluetooth off, or you can go into the connection manager, and delete the device you don't want connecting.
