Weird. All of a sudden all MS office applications do now not open. They give Quit Unexpectedly messages instantly. MS Solution to drag com.microsoft.powerpoint.plist etc. to desktop is no good as all these files are not listed in the Library.
Lost as to what to do. Have MS OS Yosemite 10.10.2.. any ideas?

Did you look in the USER library? It's normally invisible, but you can reach it by holding the option key down while accessing the Go menu from the Finder.

Solutions to MS office application quitting

Thank you for User Library tip. I found all MS files and dragged PPT to desktop as a test. Alas this has had no effect on PPT at least, escaping Quitting Unexpectedly.

Try removing PPT .plist files to the Trash, and reboot.

Thank you all. No luck so far but I have revealed that Word, Excel and PPT will open quite OK in my other ACCOUNT on the Mac. My primary working account where all my docs etc are held will not allow these programs to run i.e. Unexpectedly Quit. Any ideas as to why one account fails the other works?

Many thanks.

Probably caused by corruption in that particular account. This is something that's hard to track down and can drive you batty trying to find it. It's best to transfer what you can to the good account, checking it along the way after each transfer to make sure the good account remains OK, and then remove the corrupted account. Make sure you backup everything first before doing the account swap.
