AirTag firmware update

I have a set of four of the new Apple AirTags. When you set them up, one of the steps is to link to your AppleID. Here is the link to the setup directions: Set up your AirTag using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch I followed those instructions and the AirTags seem to work really well. I can see where they are on my MBP, my iPad and my iPhone, and my iPhone has the localization function for precision finding, and that works well. So, they work.

But two things: The AirTags have not updated to the firmware that Apple released a week or so ago and they don't show up in devices at my AppleID account. Are those two facts related? Should they show up as a device just like my iPhone, iPad, MBP, etc., do? Has anybody got AirTags that did update the firmware? It's not a panic or critical thing, but it's annoying not to be able to force the update.

I got a chat at Apple about it. The fact that they don't show at my AppleID profile is because they are not logged into the account, much like my AirPods. So that was normal. I ended up with a supervisor who said the rollout of the update is slow. So, I guess patience is going to be required.
