I have my imac upstairs and wanted my music from iTunes piped downstairs on my surround sound. I bought Airport Express. Put the software in my imac and set up the network. I plugged in the express downstairs near my stereo. First off, the light blinks orange, not green but I am able to listen to my music. Secondly, in order to listen to my music, I have to switch to the network that airport is on. So I am not able to use the internet from my imac while music is playing downstairs. How do I set it up so I can be on the internet AND play my music downstairs? And lastly, every time the phone rings, my music shuts off. Why is that? In a way it is good because when I am blasting music I can't hear the phone. So when it shuts off, I know I have a call. But then I have to run upstairs to turn it back on. It gets aggrevating when the phone rings three times in a row and I have to run up and down constantly.

I appreciate any help and advice you can give me. I have tried to look it up online but can't find anything specific.

Is your phone cordless? It might be interfering with your wireless connection. I beleive you can change the channel on routers so change it to something totally different and see if it still does it.

I haven't touched my router since I plugged it in years ago. I do have a cordless phone. Maybe that is why the music shuts off. But how do I get the music to play on my default network so I can go online at the same time? Right now, it is on it's own network.
