I have a late 2008 Macbook Aluminum and I just added a beautiful 23' Acer screen to run a dual screen. I also run with this with bootcamp with Windows 7 for work purposes. However, whenever my computer goes to sleep I try to wake it up and the Macbook screen is frozen on whatever it was on last and the Acer screen is black. This is could be a very costly situation if I have to wait to manually restart my computer for work. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

Something may be preventing your machine from going into smart sleep mode. Which may be the reason that your Acer refuses to wake up. Also make sure you have all the settings correct for the Acer. And that you are using digital from your MacBook to the Acer. (DVI)

Download "SmartSleep" (free) and give it a try to see if that works for you.
