Force quit Safari

Whichever you're using, either turn off your wifi or disconnect the ethernet cable.

Reopen Safari and close the offending tab.

you can then turn your wifi back on or reconnect your ethernet cable.

And download the following for Safari. This so called ransomware is the latest scam on the 'net':-

1. AdBlockPlus.

2. Ghostery.

3. AdwareMedic the best malware remover available.

And HaydnHaydn has a ring about it like my neighbour Robert Roberts.

Thanks fo your input mate I'll look them up, I used to think Apple were immune from these sort of problems, but I know it's my fault 'cos I was looking around sites for old Virginian TV programmes so I deserved it.
Thanks again

My cable provider has a channel that runs the "Virginian" and many other old westerns but I don't believe I've seen any "Rawhide" shows. The old "Rawhide" series with Clint Eastwood were really great. Clint ("Rowdy Yates") was probably in his early twenties when that series was shot.
