@chscag

Yes, way off-topic here Charlie, but I thought you, and maybe some others, might be interested in this photo.

I can't recall if this was the same exact model you flew or not, but it's still a nice shot of a North American TB-25 Mitchell:

PS: I believe a similar model crash landed at an air strip in California just a few days ago when its wheels got hung up and collapsed in a drainage ditch or somesuch.
Sorry, I don't have any URL for that story or what the injuries were.

I just love the sound of the engines of those type of planes. Lovely smooth power!!!

The B-25 was made famous during WW II when Col. Jimmy Doolittle led the first raid on Tokyo in 1942. The B-25s took off from an Aircraft Carrier.

When I was a teen ager we used to live close to a now defunct Air Force Base in NY. The name of that base was Mitchell AFB. The remains of the base are now a large shopping center and mall. The closest town was Hempstead, NY. Look it up on Wikipedia. :)

I'm not sure which engines were on the B-25. But the B-26D had Pratt and Whitney R-2800s.
