[QUOTE="dscully4, post: 1575280, member: 311821"] Excellent question. I use Time Machine (worthless), Twin SeaGate backup drives using CARBONCOPY, and a LaCie backup drive in our safe deposit box. I just changed from PC to Mac, one of the worst mistakes of my life. My meticulously organized files look like someone had broken into our house, got in our file cabinet and thru every file overt the entire house. I was devastated, but a least the files were intact, full sized. I would need to reorganize them but still . . . then I paid a visit to the local Apple GENIUSES *** **** ****** ******* . They insisted on reinstalling the system software. That's then disaster struck. In hind-site, I should have protected the SDB unit with my life and gone back to my PC, and returned the Mac, and breathed a sigh of relief. Instead, I kept trying and now I've paid the price. I realize there are mutable things that happened and I don't expect anyone to have a magic solution, but any comment or suggestion would be appreciated. The only thing I can think of is perform a file recovery on my SDB drive and connect it back to my PS and proceed from there. Any good Recovery apps that aren't tease ware that isn't $139.00?
