Anyway, I successfully upgraded my 2015 15 MBP's SSD to a SAMSUNG 970 EVO M2. NVMe 500 GB w/ a M.2 NVME SSD Convert Adapter. Did a system restore from my external drive and all good! Running Mojave!
The write/read speeds are almost 2x the previous speeds! I can't believe it!
