Just installed a 1TB Crucial BX500 SATA SSD in a late-2013 iMac with a clean Mojave system. It seems that sleep mode is triggering crashes. I come back to a black screen, try to wake it up with keyboard/mouse input, then it reboots a few seconds later.

Fixes attempted so far:
*Disabled "power nap"
*Disabled "put hard disks to sleep when possible"
*sudo pmset -a standby 0
*sudo pmset -a standby 1

Did you try resetting the SMC for the iMac? Not sure it will help but worth a try.

It was definitely unplugged from power more than 15 minutes. Gonna try disabling sleep altogether.
