Hey everyone, I have a 2012 macbook pro that has had no problems until these last few days. I've been streaming a few games a day on firstrowsports and all of a sudden my mac is incredibly slow with everything. I went from being able to easily run seven programs at once to waiting a minute for Safari to open up.

My computer is also taking a very long time to power on, and it is losing battery very quickly. More often than not, when I close it up and leave it for a few hours, it is now dead when I return.

Could all these problems be related to malware from streaming sites, or is my computer most likely struggling from something else? I'm just so confused because it went from working great to hardly working. All my other apple products have much slower demises.

Thanks for any help.

After a restart, how much free space is available on your computer? Does the issue improve?

So i have a 500 gb disk. 323 GB free after the restart. Restarting takes my computer from more or less not usable to barely functioning. Computer also seems to have good and bad periods. During a good period, I can use the internet without too much lag.

Certainly sounds like a dying hard drive from here, but that's a semi-educated guess. Try creating a fresh admin-level user account and see if it behaves the same way. You haven't, I trust, installed any so-called anti-virus things or so-called "cleaner" applications have you?
