still on the search for a new MacBook pro... found a used one for $600, 13" display, i5 2.5ghz, 8gb ram, 500hdd. worth it? seems like a good buy to me. owner has sent multiple pictures and it looks to be in near mint condition

For a quick price comparison, and besides checking ebay sold prices etc., use some sites like:
Mac2Sell - Argus, Evaluation, Guide to used Mac, iPad, iPhone & iPod

A good buy is when both the seller and buyer are happy and satisfied they both made a good deal!! ;)

But if the price is too good to be true …. still holds … and it probably is. :D

Actually, there are several used MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.5 13" Mid-2012 models in the completed sales on ebay that sold for in the $600.00 - $700.00 ± range. So not too far out of line. ;)

Ask if they will provide a 14 day money back guarantee. I never buy as-is unless I know it is so cheap I won't mind parting it out.

I would be cautious the only question i ask if its craigslist run because most likely it's stolen

C'mon John! Lots of folks here purchase from Craig's List and are able to buy from the original owner. You can buy a stolen product from anywhere if you're not careful, but just because it's advertised on Craig's List doesn't mean it was stolen.
