There are 8 GB "Your Mac contains 4 memory slots, each of which accepts
a 1333 MHz DDR3 memory module".

Was asking what the RAM configuration is. With 8gig of RAM installed & 4 RAM slots...actual RAM installed could be:

2gig x 4 =8gig
4gig x 2 = 8gig
8gig x 1 = 8gig

The main purpose of my inquiry was...maybe one of the sticks of RAM could be causing some of the troubles (startup time for example)...and maybe testing with fewer sticks of RAM installed could be something to try.

Try running EtreCheck.

EtreCheck download site:
EtreCheck

And how many start-up items do you have loading???
Maybe try disabling them all or one at a time if the bootup time improves, to sort out which one is the cause.

27" iMac mid-2011, ipad.Air 2', iPhone 8+.
Just want to add, I have a Mid 2011 27" iMac running High Sierra (10.13.6), using Safari, and have no problems with purchases. My wake from sleep is instantaneous. I have 20GB Ram and a 256 SSD, with about 187 GB free. Hope you solve your problem.

I don't know if I originally downloaded Mojave. Where would I find it? I was able to make an on line purchase today however there are still intermittent issues with it not awaking from sleep instantly.

Another issue I have which must be a setting, is that in the Address Bar many sites are showing as "About:blank". Even this one now indicates that. How do I remedy this?

Imac 27" running Hi Sierra with 8GB of RAM. 1TB SSD about 20% used. This issue seems to have started since I did a System Recovery. I have cleared the history and website data but that didn't help

If my count is correct...3 or more issues with this 27" iMac have been mentioned in the thread. Not 100% sure if we've helped with all of them...but it may be easier to start a new thread for each of the issues to keep things focused.

The original issue regarding trouble making online purchases...I'm not sure if this has been solved or not. It's totally ok to create a separate thread for each issue.:)

Each issue deserves it's own discussion. Totally understandable how things can "branch-out" into other areas...it happens a lot with internet & chat forums everywhere.;)

I use Firefox, have my browser set up to show google as my home page, but every once in a while I still get the about:blank in the address bar.
