Hi all. I have recently decided to replace my cracked screen. Only the glass/plastic was damaged. I was able to replace the screen with ease.

When I rebooted the MacBook it displays vertical colored lines. When I remove the LCD data cable and re-insert it, the display goes back to normal. This only works once the MacBook has been booted up. I have no idea why its doing this.

Thanks. :)

It sounds like either a defective | intermittent data cable or the connector itself. You can try replacing the cable as that's the easier fix. Also make sure that none of your cables are being pinched off when you reassemble.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I decided to swap the LCD with my old 2009 unibody screen. This seems to have fixed the problem.
