12" PB 1.5 Trackpad broken

Hey guys..
I have a 12" 1.5 ghz PB.
the trackpad is not responsive
upon startup computer tells me there is no mouse attached
external mouse solves the issue
I switched trackpad for a working one
and it is still not functioning

any advice?
