Hello there,

I am a first time poster. I updated my G5 iMac last night with the new osx 10.4.9 update and my computer has gone to south!

before, i used to be able bring up the restart/sleep/shut down menu by pressing ctrl+eject. But now it doesn't work.

I can't log into myspace either, comes up with a runtime error or something.... anyone else having this problem?

Also since i've dowloaded iTunes 7, everytime I quit the application, the "iTunes has unexpecdedly quit" message comes up... EVERYIME! it's beginning to do my head in...

anyone else experiencing similar problems ? and can you help me ?

Usual, Repair permissions either by using the disc utility or third party software like cocktail.
If that doesn't work download the 4.9 COMBO update and install that.
Best

Same machine here. Not a problem. The Eject button is a deliberate thing as people were hitting Eject by accident and ejecting their movie. There is a delay 1-2 seconds. Hold the keys longer and it will work. Does here. On your other issues, try what Torchy said.

I too am having the problem with myspace no longer working on safari. I have had to use firefox for myspace, yet i'm browsing all other websites with safari. If anyone knows a fix, that would be great!

I just went to MySpace and logged in. Forgot my password as I RARELY go there, but all is fine in Safari. This is an iMac G5 2.1Ghz iSight with the latest 10.4.9 OSX Tiger installed.

You are using an Intel Mac. OSX is a different there as it's X86 code Vs PPC so there might be some difference. Will check it here on my Intel Mac Mini and get back to you.

Edit, Ok on the Intel Mac Mini Core Duo with all the updates installed. 10.4.9. MySpace works just like on the IMac G5 PPC. I can log in and view my friends pages. Something else is going on with your Machine or the OS install. Will do some searching around and see if can find out what is going on.
