Anything else, you can probably pay cash for...but carrying enough cash for, say, a Mac Pro around with you is probably not a good idea.
I paid cash for my macbook and accessorys, my savings account card doesn't have a chip.
The bloke looked funny when I whacked nearly 800 out, he started checking to see if the notes were real

I suppose it's because iphone has to be contract doesn't it?

i remember watching old movies where "in the future" people would pay with plastic or cards and cash woudlnt exist!

i prefer cash, no traces kind of a privacy thing for me and considering credit card fraud happens more in person then online with many places still using crappy paper trails, and not all electronics...

for any store to stop accepting cash would be ridiculous, many people dont like using cards, it is just as easy to get robbed and forced to an ATM to withdrawl all your money vs getting what you got on you stolen and done with it, i have 2 friends this happened, robbed in the ATM machine, criminals get smarter and will simply adapt.

i will carry cash on me (often hundreds to $1k if out shopping), i don't live in fear, fear is what people sense and those who act scared get robbed.

I prefer card simply because it's faster and leaves you with no shrapnel in your pocket.

If someone wants to try and commit fraud with your card here they have to manipulate it to signature (destroy the chip and find somewhere which accepts swipe, chip is microscopic and incredibly disfficult to destroy or blag it at the checkout, difficult and risky) or know your pin.
If someone was going to take me to a cash point to get all my cash out, very rare, then fine, they get a few hundred bob.
If someone however nicks my wallet (far more likely) they'll get cash, less cash I carry the better.

The chances of card detail interception on pin is very rare too, impossible on dda chip cards.
Much prefer card where I can use it, i'd love it to be like futuristic movies where everywhere accepted card.

i havent seen any of those new cards i am so behind in the days, i just dont like CC's as well, i prefer cash or debit cards, can only spend what i have.

i do like using my debit card, like you, i hate the shrapnel, i would be happy if they did away with change.

Seeing how things are going, having one card that is your passport, license, health cards, i am sure CC will be tossed in their, cant wait to see the fraud happening there!

They take cash on everything but the IPhone. This is so they can cut down on multiple purchases of IPhones by people for use in unlocking them.

Aye, some places haven't switched over to chip and pin yet, still on signature.

I can't see people having an all in one account card though, I have 3 bank accounts. One for spending money, one for savings, one for emergency funds.
I wouldn't like them to be combined.
