i dont have no mac's
select your clip within imovie (or multiple clips) and below your clips there should be a turtle and a hare (aka rabbit) slide towards turtle for slow and towards rabbit for fast

edit: i believe you avhe to be in the timeline viewer where it shows the length of the clip and not just the image from the first frame of the clip

I think they got rid of that feature in '08... and I'm really bummed about that.

Don't even have my mac yet but this a concern of mine...

How do I go about getting Imovie 6? I searched the apple site and found a couple upgrades but I'm not sure what it will do. Will it "downgrade" 8 to version 6? Sorry if this isn't really kosher asking if I don't own my mac yet....

Yeah... all I see are updates too.... dunno. My iMovie 6 came with Tiger so I still have that version. You don't want to downgrade... you just want that version. So in essence you'll have two version... 06 and 08

i found out how to spped up and slow down vids

click the small blue button on the clip when it's in the project library. click "Clip Adjustments" then, where it says "Speed" click "Convert Entire Clip". Wait for it to convert, which won't take too long, then the turtle and hare bar should appear and you can make it slow down or speed up.

last post is right

I hope there aren't people out there looking for imovie 06! The last post worked in imovie 09 - click on the blue box & converted, and the turtle and hare show up....I am having a real hard time relearning things from 06 though. Every single function has changed and it takes forever relearning it all. I'm terrified of what they did with imovie '11....Have to relearn the software every year and it's a pain in the butt!

1. You are responding to a thread from almost three years ago.

2. iMovie '11 (like iMovie 09) is awesome. iMovie 08 was just a big change and people hate big changes. They got over it.
