How to turn off low battery warning for my wireless mouse? It's driving me crazy! I have to use my mouse every minute or so just to close the annoying low battery window (that's wearing down thee batteries!)
Thanks!

I think this problem is caused by low batteries. :p You can troubleshoot by replacing the almost-dead batteries in your mouse with new, fully-charged batteries. A package of 2 new AA batteries can be found at apple.com/store for $12*. They may also be available elsewhere online (check eBay or Amazon). :)

Yes, I had managed to work that one out, but thanks.
Actually it is my custom to keep using my mouse until it doesn't work. Generally lasts quite a few days on low power, so no problem there. But since I already know the batteries are low, I don't want it to keep telling me every minute. I can't find in preferences where to turn off this repetitive warning.
Anyone know?
Thanks
Justin

sorry, I'm feeling goofy this morning.
The only thing I can find is a suggestion to command+drag the bluetooth indicator off the menu bar (I assume you have a bluetooth mouse). I can't check that recommendation, because my order of almost-dead batteries hasn't arrived from Apple yet. Good luck.

What is "menu bar"? I don't know hwat you mean by the bluetooth indicator on a menu bar.
I get a window which appears which has a red octagon with a white exc;amation mark in it, titled "Low Battery Warning". It won't go away until I click "OK". Sooo annoying.

The better warning which also happens is a different warning - can't remember what it says exactly, something similar, but is not a window, just some (white I think) text which appears gently in the middle of the screen, and then fades away when I move the mouse. That's fine, because I don't need to move over and click anything.

Thanks again

Batteries Blue tooth Mavericks

Sorry to say it is broke .

Apples fault ,

We will have to wait for an update , was not fixed in 10.9.1 BTW .

This is more widespread than just Bluetooth keyboard or devices .

Also affecting laptop batteries and charing cycles etc .

Remove your KB bat lid / mouse take out bats , replace it / them as was , check your Bat levels , should be more than reported just before , should keep the pop up away for a while .

It is not the batteries , keyboard or the Mac.

It is Mavericks / OSX.

Hope this helps.

Please report to apple .

Bluetooth works ok does it ?
Note 1
Plug in any PC Bluetooth mouse , Mac compatible or not , they all lag badly and are flakey.

Nick , this info:- is to help folks .

“Remove your KB bat lid / mouse take out bats , replace it / them as was , check your Bat levels , should be more than reported just before , should keep the pop up away for a while . "

If you don’t have this issue great. If that info here is misplaced , I will remove it .

I am searching for a solution ,
as far I can see there is no solution and apple needs to fix the OS - this is a new bug since 10.9 - It did not effect 10.8 . apart from note 1.

Do you have a solution ?

Not to discount your issue, but, I have plugged in several "any old" bluetooth mice - no problem here with 10.9 either - no lag and not flakey.

This issue would also be totally different than the original question of this thread - 6 years ago.

An issue of a bluetooth mouse lagging and being flakey is also not related to a general issue being reported by some users of their bluetooth devices not automatically being recognized when their computer comes out of sleep - nor of a few users reporting worse battery life on their notebooks while the vast majority of users are reporting better battery life.

You have not really told us exactly what your issue is...
Nor what Mac you are using...
What keyboard / mouse you are using...

Related to a bluetooth mouse lagging and being flakey, "assuming" you have new batteries in it, my first question would be: are either the computer or the keyboard/mouse sitting on a metal desk or stand? If so, give it up and go get yourself a wired keyboard and mouse.

And so your "proof" that Bluetooth is "laggy" for any user other than you is ... oh wait, nothing.

Written using a bluetooth keyboard and Magic Trackpad. My experience (supporting dozens of clients and spanning 30 years) trumps yours, I think, and thus your claims are specious and unfounded.

Oh and try this -

Apple Magic Mouse Jitter/Lag Issue SOLVED - YouTube

You see the range is sub par , its because the Alloy used in the case design blocks RF almost 100%, range is effected badly and the small cut out on the Apple KB is to small and underside.

I have an extra ariel added in the workstation to give me around 2.2 meter range as I need that but it flakes , and after a flake , the bat monitor goes crazy its a Side effect.

If you had a MacPro or Macbook pro you would know this issue has been around since dot.
The fact is the EXTRA bat monitor issue kicked in after Mavericks so it is Software issue .
Range always been crap , something had to live with. You will find the Bat mon issue is effecting Laptop charging on some models aswel if you dig.

Just like in the Video - poor range.

On the other hand, I have a MBP and Magic Mouse and I have ZERO problem from as much as 3 meters away, with my iPad in the way, not just my hand. So that cancels out the two videos you posted (chas_m is one and I'm the other). Great range!

What do you mean cancels out lol this is Mac land not PC world, there are issues to find a solution , I just ordered a BT external antenna on a long lead , so I can raise it up and more centre to the room , I already have the antenna on the PCI slot rear of Mac , but its not good enough round the back of the MacPro . its a solid lump of alloy . I could run the Mac with the Side door off as that increases range , but friend Im not running it like that because I need silence it is in a studio not the best location - I have limitations on placement and costs , this is the real world after all .

If the raised arial helps improve Im sound - but still if you have ideas on telling the connected / disconnected + low battery change your bat Nag pop ups to go away - your more than welcome to advise.

The Magic Mouse is not alloy or a keyboard .
I don’t use it , I don’t like actually apple Mice any of them , the best mouse was there 9600 mouse. simple as was suited its day.

I liked had logitech 11 button mouse RF not BT, but then found apple track pad better swipes than click.

The range on that Logitech mouse was rubbish swell with bad side effects , such as stuck clicks on many of the pre configured key press shortcut buttons Steer mouse was good CP panel. Ug .

New track pad , best input device they ever made. Downside 2 weeks to learn away from mouse let go .

Magic mouse is clumsy can’t deal with that over hours of work.
