Just got a MacBook.....My first Macintosh, after 10 years+ using PCs. I LOVE it. This has got to be the dumbest question asked, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to create a simple .txt file from within a directory (the eqivalent of right-clicking>New>Text File on a PC)....??? There's got to be a simple way, right? Thanks for your help.

open up TextEdit from your Applications folder.
The plug-in NuFile (http://growlichat.com/NuFile.php) will add a right-click menu item similar to PCs though.
