You might want to give a program called
Burn a try. The download link is on the right side of the page. When you launch the program there are several types of discs that can be burned. Once the program is installed do the following:
1. Launch the program and click on the tab marked Video.
2. Just to the right of those tabs is a drop doen menu that says something like VCD. Click here and set the type of disc to DVD. In the space next to the DVD icon you can enter the name for a DVD.
3. Drag your video into the window or click the plus sign to add the video. When you go to add the video I think you will be asked to select a format (PAL/NTSC). If the DVD player is a US player choose NTSC.
4. Burn will convert the video to MPEG. This may take several minutes. When it's done click the Burn button.
Burn produces a basic DVD that should play in most DVD players It behaves like a commercial DVD but without the fancy looking menus. If you need that we're going to have to step up into a paid program.
