Hi there,

I have a mid-2010 MBP that has thankfully been working quite well over the last few years. I'd like to upgrade it as much as I can (maybe even swap out the CD drive for an additional SSD) but having looked around have seen quite a few conflicting messages?

Can i upgrade the RAM to 8 or 16GB? What's the best type of SSD to get for this model? Where would I go to replace the battery?

Any help/answers would be much appreciated.

Further information:
MBP Core 2 Duo 2.4 13 Mid-2010
Current RAM - 4GB
Current HDD - 250 GB
Model - A1278
VRAM - 256MB

TIA

Thanks for your reply.

Do you know if there are any issues with certain sizes of the SSD e.g. will a 1TB be alright or will I only be able to use 500GB?

Thanks
There should be no issue with any size SSD. The only limitation, is the older SATA speed (3gb), compared to the newer SATA 2 (6GB)or 3 speeds (16GB). So, if you get a SATA 2 or 3 drive, it will still only use the SATA speed.
