And what's the price? A new LCD panel will run you around $750 or so. Next to the logicboard, the LCD is the next most expensive part.

Avoid it because of the screen and the slow as molasses platter drive. Look for a 27" model with an SSD.

That does not look like an Apple Desktop Picture? Maybe, just maybe, if this is a pic of the owner's the resolution is not set correctly?

It appears that the anti-reflective coating is peeling in spots. This has been a reported problem for some 27" panels on late model iMacs. And as you've been advised, replacing that display panel is expensive. That particular iMac is a good one even with the 7200 RPM HDD which is fast enough as long as you're not into doing things that are drive intensive. I had that exact same machine before purchasing my current one. I gave that machine to my son who is still using it. The display, however, was perfect.

I would avoid buying it unless it was dirt cheap. Factoring in a new display and possibly a new hard drive (that machine is now going on 5 years old) just isn't worth it.

Harry,

That does not look like an Apple Desktop Picture?

I'm virtually certain that the picture is Apple's High Sierra Desktop. Distorted and skewed, but Apple's.

If you were to buy that machine, you will have to do some work to get it back to normal. So figure out how much the replacement parts are going to cost (and where you can get it in Iran) and add that to your total cost. If that exceeds your budget, you might want to look elsewhere.

With a low budget, I usually recommend people look at the Mac Mini. You can pair that with any decent monitor, keyboard and mouse and get going. As you get more money, you can upgrade the monitor to a better one if you don't already have one.
