Hello everybody,
I recently bought a new 240 GB Kingston SSD, and installed it with a caddy instead of my optical drive in my mid 2012 MacBook Pro. My intention was to clone a 40 GB Windows Bootcamp partition into that SSD. I used Disk Utility's 'Restore' option, with the 40 GB partition as the source and the 240 GB SSD as the target. The Disk Utility managed not only to copy the files, but also to slash the SSD's capacity down to 40 GB! I freaked out and attempted to erase the SSD in hopes of it showing back my 240 GBs, but to no avail. I'm assuming there's a way to restore the SSD back to factory settings, and hoping that this forum will help me.
