Did I make 'Symbolic Link' correctly?

I wanted to relocate the Backup folder for my iPhone Xs on the external hard drive. After the Terminal job I got Alias icon in the MobileSync folder, however it's not folder icon with a small arrow as below. Did I make it correctly?


It must be something wrong. The backing up kept failing and when I double click the Alias icon it shows like this. :/

Try this: Go to where the backup has been copied to on the external drive. Right click the folder and select "Make Alias" and an alias should appear. Now copy that alias to where the backup folder used to be on the boot drive and then delete the alias on the external drive. I don't know if it will work, but that's certainly easier (and a lot less risky) than messing with Terminal.
