Yep! That's it, exactly. Or,  π

Greek letter pi.

We have a pizza place here in our town named "Pizza 3.14." Very clever, IMHO.

Clever: Pizza π

But the Mac sure doesn't display the Pi symbol here very well normally. It looks more like a small N that ran into some trouble. Odd, considering the Mac OS is somewhat graphics oriented. But then again, this website isn't exactly laid out for using symbols properly. :\

It’s from the Greek keyboard, rather than the symbols set. That’s probably why.

Actually the "Pizza π" I used above in post #24 was from the Times New Roman font that this site allows from its font option, many of the others just look like a modified small "N". Oddly, the Pi character in my iMac's Symbol font I checked with my PopChar.app looked terrible and was one of the worst. Strange I thought.

Well "π" is from the Greek Polytonic keyboard. I was taking a course that required a little (very little ) Greek, so I installed that keyboard. "?"is in the US keyboard symbol set, as is "?," the upper case pi. So, we can have our pi and eat it too!  π,  ?, or  ? or even  3.14!

Of course in a medical setting, say in case notes, if you type π, it is used as an abbreviation for pregnant. I know you've always wanted to know thatO:)

Well Gee, I didn't know that, and I thought the expression was often "bun in the oven" so I guess the medical phrase would be "Pi in the oven"!!! :Smirk:

Anyway, it's all Greek to me!!!

BTW: According to Google Maps, Winchester, VA looks like a nice place, and yes, it even shows your "3.14 PIZZA" place. And the food looks good as well. ;D

It is a nice place to live. Beautiful scenery all around us here in the Shenandoah Valley, lovely folks. And pizza!

Well this one looks like it was the food variety one could use:

Does its name have any association with the famous Winchester rifle???

Now that we're completely off-topic, but I guess I could google that question couldn't I??? ;D

No, the Winchester rifle was named after the inventor, Oliver Winchester, of New Haven, CN. He named the company Winchester Repeating Arms Company after the Civil War. He then improved on what was known as the "Henry rifle," a repeater that was used during the war. His first Winchester model was the 1866.
