Yes. Late 2009 iMac's onward can be upgraded to High Sierra. Your machine will support a few more releases before it is obsoleted.

Maybe, but only if one goes by what Apple says.

Hopefully my mid-2011 27" iMac will be still operation long after Apple says it's "unsupported" etc. It works fine for me even with Snow Leopard and Mavericks, my usual booted OS X.
PS: Download an installer copy of HS if you like and just store it somewhere for when they will no doubt pull it after the next macOS version release in a few months.

High Sierra is it. Apple has advised Majove OS X.14 willl be for 2012 models and later.
