Would I be able to update my 2011 iMac to High Sierra, or would this cause me problems.

Yes. Late 2009 iMac's onward can be upgraded to High Sierra. Your machine will support a few more releases before it is obsoleted.

Maybe, but only if one goes by what Apple says. :$ ;P :Mischievous:

Hopefully my mid-2011 27" iMac will be still operation long after Apple says it's "unsupported" etc. It works fine for me even with Snow Leopard and Mavericks, my usual booted OS X. :Smirk:

PS: Download an installer copy of HS if you like and just store it somewhere for when they will no doubt pull it after the next macOS version release in a few months.

It runs fine on my Husband's 2011 iMac.
