Hi to everyone, with a massive rush of blood which flooded my 'common sense box' I downloaded Skype onto my new 21inch iMac. The main reason is twofold, first I have an old service pal in New Zealand who uses Skype (nice to chat), second I simply cannot get EchoHam to work. I have downloaded the software for EchoHam and I can get it loaded, I can open it but I cannot talk on it. I have looked at the other VOiP software called HamSphere and it looks good (with lots of favourable reviews) but I am not sure about it. Why? Well, my mind says- if EchoHam will not transmit/receive then what chance for HamSphere, will that also refuse to work? I am loath to throwing 30 Euros/£26 into someone some-ones bank account only to find I have purchased yet another "pig in a poke" and wasted my money. After a deep memory search I now remember I did once use HamSphere (about 15 years ago on the dreaded Windows OS) and paid for a 12 month contract, HamSphere remembers these things to save a second FREE TRIAL.
On trying to delete Skype I am informed that "Skype cannot be uninstalled", now come on get real any downloaded secondary software can be uninstalled if not needed? Perhaps I am being stupid as usual and not grasping the reasoning behind it.
Very best regards from Keith in Derby England.
