I'm wondering about purchasing an iMac from Amazon vrs Apple direct

Apple seems to have great bargains

All comments appreciated

Why don't you tell us which iMac you want to buy?

You can buy an iMac from Apple direct (best)

or

B&H in New York (also very good)

and Amazon or any other authorized Apple reseller.

Of course prices will vary for a used iMac but if you're looking for a new iMac, prices are going to be fairly close.

It's hard to make recommendations without knowing what you want to do and how much you are willing to pay. Apple also has a good deal on refurbished systems that can be 10-15% below new, if you are ok with a slightly older machine. They do come with full Apple warranty, so it's better, generally, than other vendors.

I bought mine at best buy. easier than going to the mall where the apple store is. apple store and the mall is always too busy for my liking.

I've seen both types. Apple Stores in a Mall that are absolutely a mad-house. And Apple Stores in Mall's (at the right time) that have almost 1 Apple employee for every 3-5 customers.
